Julia has been teaching English as a second language for the past 20 years. This work has taken her to China, Japan, and Ecuador to teach students and to facilitate professional development workshops with faculty.She has presented many times at TESOL International Conferences and several U.S. regional conferences. Julia is currently a senior instructor at the Intensive English Language Program at Portland State University. She travels to China often to work with partnership programs and deliver teaching workshops. Her research interests include student motivation, cross-cultural communication, and reflective practice.
